Our Salon, Our Story..
Thanks for checkin' out MissChelle's Salon, here's our story. MissChelle's was established May 2nd, 2007 in Hartwood, VA! After working at other salons Michelle decided to open a salon and run it out of her basement. That's right, a full service salon with the home feel. Just as professional but a touch of "homey-love" thrown in made the perfect atmosphere. Michelle grew up watching her grandparents run one of the most successful trash services in Northern VA ran from their basement. As well as her other grandfather running an automobile supply company from his basement. All three uncles running home improvement companies from their homes and Michelle's mother in starting a very successful dental laboratory ran straight from her basement. Michelle's husband, son and sister in law running successful businesses right from their homes, quite a family of entrepreneurs as you may conclude! There is something special about basements in your own home, no question asked. Our goal when coming to MissChelle's Salon is that you feel relaxed and not caught in the rat race of parking, rushing or lifes demands. We desire the atmosphere at MissChelle's to be peaceful and calming as you enjoy your time in the salon. Michelle has always been driven by challenges in life to accomplish things that seem "crazy" to achieve Her grandfather told her back in 2007, and we quote, "Missy, you're crazy to start a hair salon in Hartwood, all the way out in the country, who would come?" Well right before passing away in July 2011 he let Michelle know that he was very proud of her and he sees the hard work it took to make a successful salon out in good ole' Hartwood and was always surprised with how many clients she had. Hard work, dedication, sacrifice, priorities and keeping the vision of things to come that we cannot imagine is what small businesses are all about! Throw in the power of prayer and God and you can't go anywhere but forward! In Michelle's opinion, which is just Michelle's opinion... SMALL BUSINESSES ROCK, support them!
